From a public finding to a verified status
The product addresses a distributed problem: copies may appear across many domains, forums and file hosts or behind redirects. Crawlers and browser-based processes inspect publicly reachable sources and, where needed, follow multi-stage click paths or graphical link fields to the actual target.
Automation initially produces candidates. Findings are then reviewed in the context of their source and other signals. The workflow does not stop at “notice sent”. Rechecks explicitly distinguish that intermediate state from a URL that has later been confirmed as no longer available.
Multiple detection signals, not a single automatic decision
DMCA Protect combines several technical methods. Visual similarity analysis can account for modified crops, scaling or compression. OCR identifies visible text, logos and watermarks. Face recognition may be used as an additional signal for profiles that have been configured for it.
None of these signals alone constitutes an automatic legal decision. The public product information emphasises human review. The technical purpose is to narrow a large number of possible matches and provide sufficient context for a traceable assessment.
Source action and search delisting are separate paths
Google delisting can reduce discoverability but does not remove content from its original source. DMCA Protect therefore separates notices to platforms or hosts from possible search-engine action. Responses and processing times can vary between recipients.
The product cannot guarantee deletion. It does, however, organise a documented path from discovery and review through an appropriate notice to a later check. That distinction prevents a sent message from being presented as if removal had already been completed successfully.
Distributed search, analysis and recheck processes
Browser-based workers and parallel analysis help process dynamic pages, larger volumes of findings and regular follow-up checks. Central infrastructure coordinates searches, analysis results and subsequent status. Confirmed findings can expand the customer-specific reference basis.
